DoorDash Says AI Agents Have Placed 'Several Hundred' Orders in Total. It Delivers Millions a Day
On its third-quarter earnings call, DoorDash CEO Tony Xu said the company is seeing "maybe several hundred orders in total" from third-party agents such as Muse, Instinct and Fo, TechCrunch reports. For scale, DoorDash said in its 2025 report that it completes about 3 million deliveries a day. The agent economy is coming; it just hasn't ordered dinner yet.

Key facts
- Xu: "you never want to fight gravity. But at the same time, you don't want to be delusional."
- Customers still mostly order through DoorDash's own app, per Xu, who said ads inside third-party agents could be an opportunity later.
- DoorDash runs its own agents too: a text-to-order agent (September), a CLI agent (July) and the Ask DoorDash chatbot (June), per TechCrunch.
