A Codex User's Lifetime Token Count Shrank 38% Overnight. The 48-Day Streak Kept Counting

A ChatGPT Pro user filed a GitHub issue on 31 October with before-and-after screenshots of the Codex profile page: lifetime tokens fell from about 62.87 billion to 38.76 billion and peak daily tokens from 3.45 billion to 2.82 billion, while the streak ticked up from 47 to 48 days. The reporter lists possible causes, from a recount to removed usage types, and says they are "not claiming which explanation is correct". A 24-billion-token haircut, and the streak never flinched.
